I have spent decades coaching people from all walks of life. It doesn’t matter what you call it: personal coaching, life coaching, spiritual coaching, or transformational coaching. My passion is to provide a safe space and the right processes for people to maximize their potential.
Most successful leaders know the importance of having a good “coach” in their corner to listen, advise, challenge and empathize with them. I coach leaders from every walk of life at every level of the organization. It is my passion to help you bring forth the best from yourself and from others.
I provide the right Tools to help transformational teams optimize results. My background in human dynamics and organizational health are an important asset in building a cohesive, high functioning team. It’s takes intentional practice at building the right skills to be a transformational team. There are over 35 Tools (workshops and practices) that focus on the SMART side (strategy and execution) and the STRONG side (organizational health).
Presenters and workshop leaders often determine the success of an event. Given my expertise in transformational leadership and building a culture of execution we can work together to craft a vital and engaging presentation for your audience.
My journey is a circuitous path to this season of my life. I grew up in Southwest Michigan where my faith and career were shaped as a pastor’s kid while attending parochial schools from elementary through Seminary where I received a Master of Divinity. My first position after seminary afforded me the opportunity to think outside-the-box in developing curricula from children to adults with the goal of creating experiential learning environments.
These early years of experimenting with educational applications were foundational in crystallizing my desire to have people “actually learn.” They also embodied my belief that challenging people to look inside and think differently just might be seedbed of transformation.
I served in variety of congregations inspiring people as an innovative leader and cultural change agent.
My belief in transformation isn’t just theoretical. In 1994, my personal and professional life were reset after a bout with thyroid cancer, surgery, radiation treatment, losing a job, and a subsequent cross-country move that upended his family. Through it all, I learned that the greatest gift I can give others is a life that was grounded with a clarity of purpose and values. It was during this time that I was introduced to the principles of Transformational Leadership and Actual Change Theory; living from solid principles and serving others was the way of greatest influence.
Knowing I was an avid student of leadership, the former trainer for the Detroit Red Wings and friend, asked me to coach him as he was developing his business. It was at this point in 2000, my passion for supporting leaders of organizations became a reality. I resigned from my ministerial career, hired a coach and began to develop a business plan. Like many plans, it had many iterations. For five years I was the General Manager of a conference center where I was also given freedom to build a cohesive leadership team and a healthy culture.
It was during these formative years that I developed MissionBuilderTM a unique process to discover your purpose, uncover your values, and articulate a practical Mission Statement.
Over the years my business has expanded to also coaching and training small and medium-sized business leaders in both strategic planning and building a culture of execution.
My passion is to invite individuals to transformational living and teams to transformative results.
My high school sweet-heart, Debbie and I live in Howell, MI. We enjoy being part of our family’s lives. Our adult children, Anne, Katie & husband Dan, Nathan & wife Angela, and of course, grandchildren Abigail, Graham and Logan. We enjoy entertaining friends and acquaintances as we have discussions around our dining room table and traveling together every chance we get.
